HETAS is the national organisation working for consumer safety and the wider public interest in safe, efficient and environmentally responsible use of biomass and other solid fuels.

The MCS certifies microgeneration technologies used to produce electricity and heat from renewable sources. The MCS is also linked to financial incentives which include Feed in Tariffs.
NICEIC
NICEIC is the UK electrical contracting industry’s independent voluntary body. They offer leading certification services, Building Regulations Schemes, products and support to electrical contractors and many other trades within the construction industry. Over 25,000 contractors are registered with them and take advantage of their products and services.
NICEIC PAS 2030
The NICEIC PAS 2030 is a standard established by the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) that sets out requirements for the installation of energy efficient measures in buildings. It ensures that contractors meet specific criteria for delivering high-quality energy efficiency improvements, such as insulation, heating systems, and renewable technologies. Compliance with PAS 2030 is necessary for contractors working on government schemes, such as the Green Homes Grant.

The RECC scheme was set up to guarantee a high quality experience for consumers wishing to buy or lease small-scale energy generation systems for their homes. The RECC logo is a sign that the company has agreed to abide by the high standards set out in the Consumer Code.

Safecontractor is an accreditation scheme that assesses the health & safety competency of contractors and service providers. Clients have a legal obligation to ensure that external contractors and service providers working on their premises operate in a safe way. There is therefore a need to assess contractors' health & safety arrangements and increasingly this is being carried out through Safecontractor.
