CCS Supporting Winchester Homeless Shelter
A water bottle makes a big difference.
Winchester is a city that CCS is proud to be working within as we support Winchester City Council to upgrade the social housing in the area with energy-efficient measures. Cutting CO2 emissions and potentially saving residents money on their utility bills.
When we're fortunate enough to be working in an area, CCS is passionate about supporting the local community in any way we can.
How can a simple water bottle make such a huge difference?
Charlotte Cope is a Support Officer at a homeless shelter in Winchester and she noticed that the clients that she cares for struggled with staying hydrated during the hot summer months. We do occasionally get hot weather in England and we're sure there is more on the way during 2024 before we descend into autumn. With the more extreme conditions come the risks for our vulnerable members of society which can prove fatal.
Having a handy supply of clean drinking water isn't always easy for some. Charlotte saw that there was a simple solution so she reached out to her father and our CCS colleague, Jerry Cope for help.
A plan was put in place to supply CCS water bottles, so the staff at the shelter can assist clients and better manage their hydration.
During my visit to West View House, Charlotte told me how thrilled the clients would be to have these bottles. "I'm going to attach name labels to the bottles so that they have their own. They are going to love these so much and it can literally be a lifesaver." Charlotte told me.
We're proud to support Charlotte and all the staff at the shelter as they strive to improve the lives of others.
Charlotte Cope and Nafisa Maisha were happy to receive the CCS water bottles.
