CCS Heating & Electrical Staff Conference 2024
Growth and Optimism for the Future
Last Friday, CCS held its 2024 Heating & Electrical Staff Conference at the scenic Norton Park Hotel in Sutton Scotney. The event brought together engineering staff and senior management to reflect on the company’s recent successes and outline a promising vision for the future.
A Bright Future for CCS
Managing Director Danny Gladwyn opened and closed the event, sharing insights into CCS's impressive growth trajectory. He acknowledged that while the company’s rapid expansion presents challenges, it is a testament to its strategic direction and the dedication of the entire team.
Danny also emphasized CCS's ongoing commitment to investment, highlighting key areas such as hardware, technology, software, fleet, and training. The company remains focused on ensuring sufficient funds are available to support these critical initiatives.
Financial Strength and Stability
Finance Director Leigh Hope provided a detailed overview of CCS’s financial health, underscoring the company’s robust management of its growth. He noted that CCS continues to reinvest all profits back into the business, reinforcing long-term sustainability and building a stable foundation for continued expansion. This financial strength not only enables the company to grow but also to invest in talent—whether through recruitment or by providing training to help staff advance in their careers.
Development and Partnerships
Business Partnership Manager Jordan Shelley discussed CCS’s commitment to strengthening existing partnerships and hinted at the imminent announcement of new contracts. He also mentioned that with additional staff now in place, the company will be able to increase its bidding capacity.
Jordan highlighted the expansion of the Business Development team, which is embracing a fresh approach to marketing and branding. A stronger focus on customer experience was also noted, with the appointment of a specialist dedicated to identifying issues and enhancing service quality.
Investing in People
Head of HR, Nicki Parry, emphasised the importance of company culture and supporting staff aspirations. She explained that HR is not only there to address issues but also to help employees grow and advance their careers within CCS.
Nicki shared how the HR and Compliance team has grown during her four years at CCS to keep pace with the company’s expansion. She also highlighted improvements to the induction process, which ensures a strong foundation for new staff. Additionally, Nicki spoke about the new training centre being established at the Hopkinson Way building at CCS’s Andover headquarters, which will further benefit both the company and its staff.
Looking Ahead
As Managing Director Danny Gladwyn concluded the conference, the atmosphere was one of optimism for the future. The leadership team made it clear that while CCS has already achieved significant milestones, the best is yet to come. With a stable foundation, a growing team, and strong financials, CCS is well-positioned to continue its upward trajectory in the coming years.
The event underscored CCS's commitment to controlled, sustainable growth and its focus on investing in the future.
