National Apprenticeship Week 2025

We at CCS strongly support the recruitment of apprentices within the business. We are committed to developing apprenticeships, fostering career growth, strengthening community connections, and enhancing workforce development. Our goal is to promote educational achievement through training programmes that address skills shortages and lead to recognised certifications and qualifications.

As the first company to sign ‘The Pledge’, we have a strong relationship and partnership with our apprenticeship partners, Co-Train. We work closely with them to identify individuals who are seeking training or starting their career journey.

We collaborate with businesses and industry leaders in our service areas to identify skills gaps and create apprenticeship opportunities that align with their needs.

Our commitment to providing a comprehensive and dynamic learning environment ensures that each apprentice is equipped with the tools and expertise needed to excel in their career.

We are incredibly proud of our diverse, multi-skilled apprentice workforce, and we remain steadfast in our dedication to supporting them at every stage of their professional journey. By offering continuous training opportunities, we strive to foster long-term career growth and job satisfaction, ensuring that our apprentices have the foundation to succeed for years to come.

Baldev Bhakar

CCS apprentice, Baldev Bhakar told us about his progress so far.

"I initially self-funded my course to achieve my Level 2 and 3 City & Guilds 2365 qualifications, along with the BS 7671 18th Edition.

At first, I found it challenging to secure a company willing to support me through my apprenticeship. It was a difficult process, but I was fortunate to be taken on by CCS, who are now funding my course and providing me with the experience I need to achieve my ultimate goal of obtaining my Gold Card.

My manager at CCS, Gareth Leybourne, has been incredibly supportive, always guiding me and ensuring my work includes everything required for my portfolio. I’m really grateful for the opportunity CCS have given me, and I look forward to completing my course and continuing to work with them for many years to come."

Danny Gladwyn, Managing Director, CCS

"As CCS continues to grow, we believe apprentices will play a vital part in our future. Their energy, fresh thinking, and willingness to learn will drive CCS forward and enable us to build on our sturdy foundations. Investing in apprentices isn’t just about shaping their futures, it’s about developing a team with the right skills and attitude for CCS and the changing demands of our industry."
