Warm Homes Supply Chain Event

Correct Contract Services (CCS) were delighted to attend the Warm Homes Supply Chain Event on Wednesday, 12th November at Exeter College's Future Skills Centre, focused on helping local businesses understand how to access and deliver government-funded retrofit work across Devon. Hosted by Devon County Council, the event set the scene for the region’s major investment in energy-efficiency improvements, including over £22 million secured for schemes such as Warm Homes: Local Grant, ECO, and Social Housing retrofit programmes. The day opened with a welcome and keynote from Ellen Rodger, Climate Lead at Devon County Council, outlining the growing opportunities for organisations within the retrofit supply chain.

A series of in-depth panel discussions provided attendees with practical guidance and sector insight. The first panel explored current retrofit schemes across Devon, what Tier 1 contractors are seeking from local suppliers, the impact of retrofit work to date, and the challenges that remain. Our Head of Retrofit, Cian O’Flathabhain, spoke on this panel alongside representatives from Cardo, Ian Williams Ltd, LiveWest, and chaired by Dave Sexton from South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council. This session offered valuable clarity on how small and local businesses can position themselves for future opportunities.

The second panel focused on how SMEs can successfully deliver retrofit work, covering topics such as PAS 2035/2030, the role of the Retrofit Coordinator, new revenue opportunities, and available local training and support. Contributors included sector experts such as Dr Sarah Price, Jonathan Dyson of AgilityEco, Daniel Roberts of Taylor Lewis, and Luke Moss from Exeter College, chaired by Nicola Turvey from Plymouth City Council. The depth of expertise provided actionable advice for both new and experienced organisations in the sector.

Representing CCS alongside Cian O’Flathabhain were our Head of Business Partnerships, Jordan Shelley, and Customer Experience Manager, James Bishenden. Following the formal sessions, attendees were invited to a networking lunch. For CCS, the event proved both insightful and energising, reinforcing our commitment to supporting high-quality, sustainable retrofit delivery. We look forward to building on the connections and opportunities that emerged from this valuable industry event.
