Job Purpose:
Carry out National quality control checks and certification sign off on all Electrical installations for CCS Retrofit department, control checks to be carried out in line with MCS Standards, NICEIC requirements and 18th Edition wiring regulations. Auditing and QC checks to be completed in keeping with CCS policy/installation standards. Reporting directly to central admin team leader and Head of planned works.
Full Job Description
Duties:
- Maintains quality standards of the company by quality assurance checks and ensuring a high-quality finish.
- To deliver a high quality service to the client and their customers, having respect for all individuals and meeting the challenges presented.
- Promote and maintain compliance with MCS and 18th edition standards across all electrical work.
- Provide timely/daily defect reports to central admin for rectification of issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure continuous education of staff and lessons learned, also to aid in upskilling and training of operatives on site.
- To promote CCS image and engage with customers to promote CCS quality standards and education of customers.
- To carry out intrusive testing and verification of results of retrofit.
- To clear each job from the handheld device and back office system as they are completed, along with QC paper work.
- To liaise with residents and CCS clients as and when required about the works being undertaken (post installation).
- To ensure all PPE is present and always correct and basic standards are always upheld on site.
- To liaise with project manager and assist with keeping the standards of the QMS and company quality manual.
- Ensure all equipment is calibrated and in good working order.
- Ultimately report to Senior Electrical QS on technical matters.
- To ensure all appointments are kept and all CCS tenants/clients are kept informed.
- To carry out duties as required by any senior manager or member of staff representing such manager.
- To stay up to date with all codes of practice involving your given discipline.
- Carry out all reporting of variations to any works and updating administration department of changes to requirements on site.
- Responsible for engaging and attending all staff briefings and company functions.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Liaison with all other engineers and staff to ensure targets are reached, organizing mechanical works and building works on any given installation.
- Production of a certificate or job sheet for all works, any other reports or records required for the works.
- Submitting a valid and accurate time sheet, delivery notes, expenses and any other documentation weekly.
Skills/Qualifications: Essential qualifications required to be able to register as NICEIC MCS QS
- General competence in the given trade.
- C&G 2330 Level 3 apprenticeship completion or equivalent Essential
- AM2 Essential
- NVQ level 3 Essential
- C&G 2391, initial verification and periodic inspection or equivalent Essential
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Essential
- BPEC qualification or equivalent in installation of Solar PV. Essential
- Punctuality, professionalism, flexibility and working knowledge of Mobile PDA.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the given trade. Essential
- Experience of working within the Social Housing sector on installation projects and maintenance contracts
- Experience of working with residents and clients directly
- A clean UK driving license and DBS check will be required.
